CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Hayate Yagami.
CANON: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
CANON REFERENCE: Here for Hayate herself and then here for the series itself.
AGE: 19.
GENDER: Female.
YEAR IN SCHOOL/FACULTY POSITION: Science - specifically geared towards studying mutations and how to clone artificial mutants in the future. Otherwise, she's a Guidance Counselor.

NOTES: Since this application explains events and details that happened in canon and therefore, have been altered to fit in the universe, I thought to explain things better to include this section in the application itself.

Reinforce Eins (who will be going by the name "Eins") has a mutation similar to Rogue, in which she can suck life forces away and that's how Hayate was incapacitated for most of her young life by draining on her own mutation. She eventually decides to stop hurting Hayate like she has and willingly undergoes a government-issued program to work her own mutation out of her system and is put under strict supervision for the rest of her life/until the program is done.

The Wolkenritter (Signum, Vita, Shamal and Zafira) were a part of an experiment created by Sebastian Shaw after seeing the potential that Erik Lenshnerr had and he wanted more mutants. Therefore, they are artificially created ones with a wide variety of powers and are connected with a device known as the Book of Darkness (later known as the Tome of the Azure Sky). Whomever finds this book is able to connect and call upon the fearsome power that the Wolkenritter possess. Currently, it's with its' master, Hayate and they stay at their master's side.

Reinforce Zwei was cloned from Reinforce Eins' DNA and has a similar mutation to her, but is kept at a very limited range so as to not cause a near catastrophe like her predecessor caused.

APPEARANCE:

PERSONALITY:

For those who look at Hayate at first, they'll be able to see that she is a very kind, compassionate and warm person. This stems from what happened to her at an early age - the fact that she couldn't walk or use her legs due to an illness that followed her for years and it made Hayate miserable to the point of where she had to fake her smiles and tell people that she was okay when she really wasn't. Why? Well, due to what Eins was doing to her on top of her not being able to understand her mutation, she didn't know who to turn to or who would listen to a girl like her. Thus, she suffered in silence until she met up with the Wolkenritter.

See, the Wolkenritter were what helped Hayate open up more and feel like she had a family. They showed that what Hayate had wasn't a bad thing and that they were the same as her. Thus, this is the wonderful beginning of the relationship between Hayate, the new master of the Wolkenritter, and the Wolkenritter herself that still stands to this day. Hayate considers them family at this point and was thankful for them to come in at the right time when she thought she was consigned to letting Eins eventually absorb her as intended. But, when the Wolkenritter came in, it strengthened her resolve to where she'd promise she'd save Eins before she lost herself completely to her powers.

The continued support was what helped Hayate finally break free from Eins and save the woman from damning herself further. She was torn over her decision to nullify her mutation, but said that she'd always be there for her and that she forgave her for what she did to her. After this event, the group was thrust into the limelight and Hayate tried to handle the sudden unpopularity as well as she could, but was unable because she never had to deal with something of this caliber before.

As Hayate learned how to control her mutation, she quickly became a motherly sort to her family and to those who were younger than her in the school. It's not too difficult to get on her good side, either, and those who manage to win her heart will be welcomed with open arms in her ever increasing family. Around the Institute, she works to be as good of a person as possible and warm, accepting of others and doesn't turn others away based on weird mutations or the like.

However, in battle and teaching others, she's serious and is willing to do what it takes to protect others and train them should a battle break out like the Book of Darkness Incident and anything else in the past. She actively works to make a future to where both humans and mutants can coexist in harmony and will encourage others to have the same thoughts as she does. Though, she has a large sense of duty and responsibility, which doesn't bleed into her personal life as much as it ordinarily should. She'd rather sacrifice her preference to be behind a desk instead of out on the field if it meant that everyone could be happy and live in peace.

POWERS/ABILITIES:

Water/ice manipulation: Hayate has the power to make water bend to her will via manipulating the particles in it. She can manifest it as ice blocks, freeze it and move it around if necessary.

Flight/levitation: By manipulating the energy and wind currents around her, she can fly through the air with ease and also hover over the ground. She is rather quick due to previous experience and has four black wings to aid her as seen here.

Telepathy: Hayate has the power to mentally communicate with others via thought. She can, also, if needed, control the mind of someone and also obscure either herself or a group of people by altering the perceptions of the enemy around.

Form change: Hayate can change the color of her hair and eyes to look like this. It happens when she temporarily merges with Reinforce Zwei, an invaluable companion that boosts Hayate's powers that much more.

AU HISTORY: Hayate Yagami was born in Japan to her mother and father and was a happy child until tragedy struck and she lost her parents in an accident, which left her crippled. This accident was caused by Reinforce, someone who saw what kind of potential Hayate had and wanted to exploit it for her own gain. So, Reinforce kept Hayate close to her and continually made the other girl ill to where she couldn't fight nor walk for herself. This was what kind of life she had growing up and it made Hayate miserable.

However, Hayate, even though she was bound to a wheelchair, did what she could to make it through, and so, she was an orphan and attended classes at school like a normal girl and went home - that sort of thing. She had friends, sure, but didn't really have a sense of belonging. Though, that changed when she went to the library one day and picked up the mysterious Book of Darkness and that was when her life would change forever. Upon her touch, it did not only give birth to her mutant powers, but it also summoned to her side the Wolkenritter who acknowledged her as their master.

As Hayate grew closer to the Wolkenritter, Reinforce Eins saw them as a threat to her eventual goal and soon, they were launched into a hard fight known simply as the Book of Darkness Incident. Hayate was in the middle of this fight as the Wolkenritter had her best interests at heart whereas Eins wanted to keep draining her power selfishly. However, as Eins' hold on Hayate broke and her mutant powers finally able to manifest fully, she and the Wolkenritter were able to overpower her and Eins agreed to go to a government run facility so that she wouldn't harm anyone else ever again.

The incident would not go unnoticed as it thrust Hayate and the Wolkenritter into the limelight for the sheer destruction that their mutant powers caused and it was all in their best interests for the group to go to Xavier Institute to control their powers and so that the Book of Darkness Incident could never be repeated again, thus the book was put under tight security as it turned into the Tome of the Azure Sky.

As Hayate was being taught on how to control her powers, she was a disaster at first due to the sheer force, but over time and with a lot of patience, she was able to get them under control all with help of having them limited to where she wouldn't be a danger to herself or others. And, as Hayate called this place home, she decided that she would teach others on how to control their powers and not be afraid of them and when she graduated, she stayed as a teacher to help the new age of mutants feel comfortable being who and what they are.

SAMPLE
1ST PERSON SAMPLE: Here!

Should that not work, I wrote out an additional sample just to cover all my bases.

---

Hello, everyone! This is Miss Yagami and I wanted to say that those who were around for Thursday's training session performed excellently. Reinforce already collected the data necessary and results will be available if you want to see where you are right now.

That being said, for those who may be new or not know of the training sessions, they are held each Tuesday and Thursday and everyone is welcomed to attend. Refreshments will be supplied as well as a time to take a break. I hope to see everyone there!

THIRD PERSON SAMPLE: Here!

Should this also not work or be sufficient enough, I wrote out an additional sample for the aforementioned reasons above.

Another day, another lesson at the Institute. As Hayate wrapped up today's class and sent the children on their way, she went to her desk and sat down. Being one of the youngest instructors definitely cast suspicion on her to see if she was really up to the task of molding young minds as well as teach others how to control their powers. However, Hayate was up for the challenge ahead and was more than willing to prove others to not judge a book by its' cover.

...Heh.

That analogy brought a smile to her face as she found herself going down memory lane. It had been a few years since she was brought here and she already made so much progress. She still worried about Eins and how she was doing and thought that she ought to pay her a visit to see how much she progressed. As for her dear Wolkenritter, Hayate was proud that they were now respectable members of the Yagami family and thought of them as such. They had made so much progress that it was almost like their fated encounter happened just yesterday...

Ah, but now she was getting sidetracked, so with a shake of her head, she went to work on her papers with the door open should anyone want to come in and talk with her about whatever was on their minds. Besides, she wanted to keep an open door policy with people around so that they wouldn't feel like she did all those years ago: all alone and no one to help.
